Are we innately connected to the Universe? Is our current reality (or what we perceive as reality) created by our thoughts alone? Consider this: we are literally stardust. We vibrate and move in unison with the energies of the Universe. We are the Universe.
Although it may seem strange, the Law of Attraction tells us that like attracts like – simply put, our emotions, words, and thoughts create an energy flow within and around our physical realm, so whatever we focus on is what we’ll attract into our lives. Much like the Law of Gravity, the Law of Attraction is always in motion. It will work time and time again; it cannot fail. Knowing this, we can consciously work with the Law of Attraction to get anything we want – it’s not magic, it’s quantum mechanics.
Now, let’s jump right into 7 essential steps to cultivate your most desired reality:
1. Set an intention.
When forming an intention, there are two parts that play equal roles in its creation: substance and energy.
The substance part of an intention is all the information – the ooey-gooey details. What exactly is it that you desire? Be specific about what you want to attract, otherwise it’s possible to manifest what you actually don’t want. When you have clear intentions, you become a mental antenna to receive the version of reality that you wish.
Start by writing down your desire in present tense, as if you already have it. Say what you will be or what you will have. Avoid using the word “don’t” (negative words promote negative vibrations). Our subconscious minds tend to skip over the word “don’t” and focus on the words after it, so the intent of the message becomes completely reversed.
When you say “I don’t want to be broke,” your mind automatically hears the subject of the sentence “want to be broke” Instead, try saying “I am living a full and abundant life.” Another word to avoid using is “want” because the Universe will keep you in a “wanting” state (never actually receiving).
The second part of an intention is the energy that you bring to it. Close your eyes and visualize the reality you desire as already existing in the present moment, not some distant future. How does having this desire in your life stir your soul?
Activate as many of your 5 senses as possible – can you see it, feel it, hear it, taste it, or smell it? Become an emotional antenna by harnessing these feelings to your entire being. The more feelings you conjure up, the more powerful your intention will be.
2. Practice mindfulness.
Mindfulness is paying attention to our thoughts, feelings, sensations, and environment in the present moment. When we practice mindfulness, we create an open and safe space for ourselves – a space where all thoughts and feelings are welcomed without judgement (understanding that there’s no right or wrong way to feel in any moment).
We are no longer guided by our egos, but we are now guided by our highest Self. We can tune in our awareness deep within the very source of our being – the infinite and untethered transcendental source of all existence. This increased sense of awareness allows us to shift our thoughts into more positive ones, in turn, nurturing a high-vibrational mind and body.
For example, whenever you have a negative thought, you might choose to take a moment to stop, recognize that thought as invaluable, and release the negativity. When you release resistance from the thoughts that are holding you back from reaching your desires, your desires will be able to flow easily into existence.
To practice mindfulness:
- Start by acknowledging how you’re feeling or what you’re thinking.
- Focus your awareness on your breath as its pathway enters your body. Notice how its energy fills you with life, then slowly dissipates into the ether.
- Observe what you’re sensing in the moment; the sights, sounds, and smells that usually slip by your conscious awareness. Listen or feel intently.
- Tune into your body’s physical sensations, identifying each one as you experience it – is there anything touching your skin, or can you feel the air flowing across your face? Become fully entwined with whatever it is that you are feeling.
- Recognize that your thoughts and feelings do not define you – a valuable insight that can cultivate freedom from negativity, fears, and misunderstandings.
- Take a deep breath, and as you exhale, release anything that no longer serves your truest and highest Self. Feel where you are in the present moment.
3. Make a plan.
What good is a goal if you don’t have a plan? You must play your part – decide what steps you need to take to in order to achieve your dream.
For example, if you want to be a successful musician, try playing your instrument or sing regularly. Practice, practice, practice. Surround yourself with others that wholeheartedly feed your passion for music. If an idea for a song comes to you, write down the notes or lyrics. If the Universe presents you with a meeting with a record label, isn’t it obvious that you have to show up in order to explore the opportunities that lie ahead?
When you do what most closely mimics the actions you see yourself doing in your dream, you become a physical antenna to receive your wish from the Universe.
4. Create positive affirmations.
Affirmations are an intentional way to reprogram our thinking patterns. When we repeat affirmations, we are consciously changing our old (negative) thought habits and forming new (positive) thought habits.
Increase positive energy in your life by learning to express feelings of desire – write down a few positive affirmations and repeat them several times a day. It might feel strange at first when you say these affirmations to yourself because you’re old way of thinking has become comfortable to you, but after consistent practice, these affirmations will become your new way of thinking – it will feel as comfortable to you as your old thought habits were.
Here are a few examples of affirmations that you can try:
I am open and ready to allow abundance to flow to me.
I release all negativity from my mind and body.
I am worthy of a vibrant and healthy body.
5. Show gratitude.
Develop an attitude of gratitude to raise your vibration and realign yourself with the energy of the Universe. Instead of focusing on the things you don’t have, take the time to notice and reflect on the things you do have (try writing in a gratitude journal).
Instead of asking the Universe for something, say thank you for what has already been given to you and what you will receive in the future. If you are genuinely grateful for what you already have, you are only going to attract more abundance into your life.
6. Dream your dream.
The more you think about your desire, the more likely it is to manifest into a reality. This is true even when you are asleep. You can influence your subconscious by visualizing your wish and asking to become one with your desire as you drift off to sleep.
When you emotionally connect to your desire, you awaken two powerful energy centers that need to be engaged when working with the Law of Attraction – the heart chakra and the crown chakra. Your heart must be connected to your thoughts and visualizations in order to create a necessary emotional energy that resonates with your desire. The crown chakra connects you to the divine Source – it is where you discover the faith to work with the Law of Attraction.
7. Trust in Divine timing.
The Universe is not some genie in a bottle who will immediately grant your wish in a gratifying instant. She is rearranging the energy to bring your dream to you – that can take days, weeks, months, or years.
Whatever the timeline may be, you must truly believe that what you want is tangible in your outer reality and that you will receive what you’ve asked for when the time is right. Remember, impatience can slow down the Law of Attraction, and we wouldn’t want that, would we?
